Guest guest
Aureen, My daughter was diagnosed with OCD about 1 1/2 years ago. Since then we've been in therapy and on medication. Her psychiatrist has made multiple medication changes, yet we have major struggles and new behaviors popping up. I actually just posted a list of the meds and combinations of meds we've tried. We have been in therapy the entire time as well. Her therapist uses exposure resistence therapy and cognitive behavior therapy. We made great progress the first few months, but since have had major set backs. We also started OT in December to deal with sensory issues. She currently takes Zoloft 50 mg and now the psychiatrist wants to add Geodon. It sounds so dangerous. Is it widely used in kids? Is there one antidepressent that seems to work better in treating OCD than others? My daughter has also been diagnosed with PDD/NOS (the school said she had Aspergers). She also has a diagnosis of ADD and sensory integration issues. Is treatment different when there are comorbid disorders? I am very frustrated and discouraged after such a long time in treatment and having such major issues still. Her biggest issues now are fear of any crowds and constant rubbing/wiping off on things. Thanks for any advice you can offer. Darletta __________________________________________________
