Jo Ellen,

I live in IL so I don't know any motility docs in your area. I take

Miralax and Domperidone. The domperidone is a motility drug similar

to the drug Reglan only without the nasty side-effects. It is not

available in the states. My doctor has special permission from the

FDA to prescribe it to his patients who cannot take Reglan. I get

mine from a pharmacy in Canada. I belong to a group for

gastroparesis and many of them are on on it. Some people can

tolerate Reglan, but not many. Some people take a low dose of

Erythramiacin(sp?)which irritates the stomach just enough to cause

movement. Some people also take pain meds and anti-nausea meds to

help with comfort. Many also take some kind of anti-depressant.

For some reason they seem to help with motility. It took me several

different doctors to find one with the answer to my problems. After

it taking four years and half a dozen docs to get my daughter's PID

diagnosed, I just kept trying different docs until I found one that

had the answer. I know how frustrating it can be, but don't give

up. I always believe that there is someone out there with the

answer we need. We just have to keep trying until we find them.
