Guest guest
Hi, We have finally been able to convince the school that they don't know enough about Aspergers to teach our daughter..They were failing to provide the provisions laid out in her IEP (from another school district) such as: They don't have an inclusive program for Algebra They also have what they call " block scheduling " which is killing our daughter..It is a 90 min class, and because they don't break down the concepts enough while teaching(they have 20 other students in the class), they have to do alot of reteaching... Our daughter has never had to have OT, but they want to evaluate her for it now, because they that this is why she is failing... We think it is because she can't put that much info into her brain in one sitting They have referred her out to a private school, but it is an hour away from our home!!! I think they are punishing us because they are failing!! The school district that we were in last year, is 1/2 hour away, and they knew what they were doing!!!Couldn't they just refer us to another public school, or are they just too embarassed that they don't know enough about Autism Spectrum Disorders??Any Suggestions??
