Guest guest
Hi everybody, Time for my check in here late Sun., feel like I am not complete unless I check in with you all. So how are you doing this last day of 2006? My son Jeff came down yesterday morning with his two kids, and my son Tom came over and we finally had Christmas, a week late on account of we missed it on the real day because Marty was in the hospital. Tara couldn't come, she had to work, but her three kids were here, so it was fun. Then we had to start getting ready for my granddaughter's wedding, and all 8 of us fit into my van and made it clear out into the boondocks by the reservoir in time, and it was a very beautiful wedding. Her colors were red and black, and I had miraculously found a really nice pin stripe black suit the night before with a red lining to the jacket, and wore a white blouse, and they gave me a long stemmed red rose to carry down as I was escorted down the isle. The bride and groom were exquisite before the lodge fire place, and altar set up there. It was a truly religious wedding, the pastor giving many scripture about marriage out of the Bible, etc. and they kneeled and took their first holy communion there together, I thought that was quite beautiful. Then we ate catered food, shrimp cocktail, etc., and they had music, etc., but we finally had to go, little Lucas, the hit of the party in his white shirt and tie, and camo pants and black leather flight jacket was getting a little fussy. And here is the FUN part, we got LOST coming down the mountain, took a wrong turn and almost became another Oregon statistic lost in the woods! Our directions were completely turned around but thank goodness my GMC van has a compass that tells which we are going, and it was NOT west, but east, so Jeff finally turned around and retraced our path back, and took the right road out of there! We were a little scared there for awhile and I thank the Lord that it did not start snowing, was cold but dry. Well that is about it really, the kids stayed all night here at my house, and had a blast, and Jeff and I took them roller skating today, and I have determined to buy my own shoe skates, I have always wanted a pair anyway, really all my life! Then I will take the kids on a regular basis, it's good exercise. Oh yes, and my mom and my oldest boy Tom did fine, he drove her to the wedding, and was a nervous wreck giving away his only daughter, his only child, but looked just great in his black suit, black shirt, red tie, and his long leather jacket, and blond hair. He enjoyed talking to his old in laws, they are nice people, but I must say his ex's new husband was a bit snippy, we had to sit right behind them. Oh well, that is how it goes sometimes I guess, but Tom got through it, and drove all the way to his home up at Dallas. Now I hope he goes back on the wagon..... And Marty is doing WELL we think, no more coughing up gunk from the pneumonia he had last week anyway, praise God! And now I am going to completely CRASH in my chair and watch some football, in my brand new 100% cotton robe and new sheep skin slippers my sweet daughter in law got for me. I want you to know I appreciate all of you, and all of your prayers so very much, and may God bless you all of this coming year. Happy New Year one and all!!! Much love, Carolyn
