Guest guest
Hi Shirley, You don't mention how old your daughter is. Sometimes the years leading up to and including puberty are full of attitudes and mood swings. My 10 year old daughter is very much the Tween and she does not have OCD. Her brother who is 13, does have ocd, ad/hd and a few other diagnosis including a mood disorder and I have experienced periods of time when he has cursed and called me names. Our family has been under a huge amount of stress for the 6 years, and now that the kids and I are living away from their father in our own home, I am able to see just how much calmer and easier to deal with my son is. Recently there were some issues involving his father, and his defiant behavior increased greatly both at home and at school. Is your daughter taking any meds for her OCD? Sometimes behavioral side effects enter into the picture from meds. Even with taking these things into consideration, do you have any way to make your daughter accountable for her actions? Consequences will be with her all her life and irregardless of what is causing the problems, she still should be held accountable. Please let us know specifics and we may be able to assist a little more. Best wishes, in Southeastern PA Shirley <pelicanstwo@...> wrote: I havent posted in a long time...but allways read the posts. I am having an terrible time with my daughter....she is so mean to me. She calls me names and is just plain rude...all the time. I need to discuss this with her doc. our next appointment is at the end of the month. Does anyone else deal with this...shes on Zoloft 100mg. could that be adding to it?? She seems to be dealing with her OCD issuses...that was mainly underwere issuses (she just refuses to were them) I just hate dealing with all the meanness. Guest guest
Shirley, My daughter is 9, and at times is very mean also. she is on 75mg zoloft, and I have to say her " meaness " . has gotten worse as it has been raised. I have been wondering myself if the zoloft is adding to her frustrations.
