Guest guest
Just wondering-has anyone dealt with a mono infection in a teenager? My non-pid-is very ill-missed over 2 weeks of school already and does not seem to be getting any better. All of the blood work shows active Epstein Barr-and a past Epstein Barr infection. She can hardly move off the couch. This is my child that was prepared-until this hit-to run a 13.5 mile half marathon. I am really at my wits end-as is the doctor- We did test her immune system a few years ago when all of this started with Maddie- had a couple of strange bouts of cellulitits-and everything was uber normal- We talked to Maddie's infectious disease doc-he looked at all the labs-and said on paper it is one of the worst cases of mono he had seen-but I guess I just feel she should not still be this sick. Even taking a shower makes her fever go up to almost 101. Any thoughts, suggestions....I have cried and prayed about his for days-I just don't know what to tell her-or myself. I need to meet with school-and now my job is on the line. Thanks- Becky in IN-mom to Maddie, IgA def, low IgG, gerd,asthma,....and -almost 16-and miserable
