Guest guest
Hi Tami and Newbies, Welcome to our elite group! It is wonderful to have you here with us and I enjoyed getting to know some about you with your introduction. I have two son's with apraxia, along with several other apraxic kids on this list, that have this speech disorder. Also there are parents on this list that have kids with other conditions and different symptoms, yet we relate and have much the same concerns and struggles for our children. You will find lots of support, warmth, understanding from our members. I am not aware of Ventral Septal Defects, yet it is known that apraxia can co-exist with other primary conditions, such as Autism to name one of many. Apraxia also is a neurological condition, and often there are other " soft " neurological signs that even some parents or pediatricians do not find until a child is somewhat older. For this reason it is best have apraxic children evaluated by both speech and neurodevelopmental medical professionals. It's great to know that you already have professionals working with your daughter. Early intervention is significant and can be the key advantage to your child's successful outcome. Wow! You have 2 sets of twins! I am a twin to a sister and know we were lots of work for our dear parents! You do sound like a wonderful and busy mom! I do look forward to you joining us at the list. Be sure to search for answers in the " Archives " and " FAQ " found in the bookmark section at / (Thanks to CHERAB's , who has taken valued time, among many other duties, to organize and compile FAQ for our group!) Below- I have listed my favorite informative websites on Apraxia. These sites are " parent friendly " with a personal unique touch, which is why I find them special and highly recommend them to everyone. Most impressive, all dedicated, working together for the sake of our children! Best Wishes, Mustafa Mom to Khalid 15.2, Jadd 7.7, Danya 10.2 (Both sons are apraxic and doing wonderful)
