Guest guest
Hi everyone! I just came in from dropping off Liz and her daughter Haley at the airport -so they are on their way back to Georgia. What an incredible two days we had!! It was so exciting to be part of a talk show-we had no idea how fast time goes though. There were so many things that we wanted to say on the air -but not enough time to say them! When the talk show host turned to me at one point to ask me a question, I started and then was about to say " Can I start over? " but then I thought " What if I can't and I look stupid " Oh course I was thinking this while talking. So I had one fumble - oh well! You'll see all the pictures on both the http://www.apraxia.cc website and Liz's website http://kidstalkback.tripod.com/kidstalkback/ Thanks so much to the following generous supporters : Mars 2112 http://www.mars2112.com was so outrageous and FUNNY!! You've got to see the chicken " rap " done by this one alien who is half Martian and half New Jersian. We had so much delicious food and all kinds of fun drinks too. The Grand Summit Hotel http://www.grandsummit.com put Liz and Haley in an executive suite! The Empire State Building again donated the trip for our group to the observation tower. And then today, a new supporter - Liberty Science Center who donated tickets to our group for admission and all the amazing Imax shows etc. http://www.lsc.org The kids got to pet horse shoe crabs, snakes, sea urchins and more! I believe they liked the 3D show the most-but that's hard to say. We also want to thank two of CHERAB's new advisors a Tallal PhD and Judy Flax PhD from the Center for Molecular and Behavioral Neuroscience of Rutgers. Dr. Tallal has really been helping greatly with the CHERAB brochures to pediatricians/etc. that will be going out Nationwide thanks to a new Nationwide organization (to be announced soon!). And Dr. Flax was a natural on TV in answering the questions about early language development. Cheryl SLS/MA Educational Consultant had to redo her question about oral motor activity three times because of sound problems from the mike - and we were all laughing even the second time. We had so much fun! (and all of us want to take home the make up artist that was there!) Janet Timari -thanks for being such a good person and a good sport. The producer told me that they never had as many people booked for the show as they did for this verbal apraxia segment and we were not allowed to squeeze in " one more person " . I can't wait to see it either-and will have all the details posted here and at the http://www.apraxia.cc site on Monday, January 10th - the air date. I believe you will be able to watch on the internet as well-so that means all of you will be able to view it!! =====
