laws compare with those of other states and what's being done about it.

autistic to connect with society " </A>

For those who find social skills do not come naturally, the computer can be a

lifesaver. Predictable, controllable, and safe, the computer screen can

provide a way of breaking into the tunnel-vision world of those with autistic

disorders.

Dyslexia Narrowed Down to Single Chromosome " </A>

A Pre-school test to identify children with a predisposition to dyslexia has

become more likely with the discovery of a genetic link to the disorder,

scientists said yesterday.

Neuroscientists examining the brain activity of people who learned to speak

American Sign Language (ASL) at different times in their lives have found the

When I first heard about it a year ago, I blew it off as an unrealistic

fantasy story. A wheelchair that climbs stairs? Impossible. Not in my

BTW, Update on the 12 year old boy I was working with -- the one

locked in a padded room and door tied shut (no attendent). He has

since heard a teacher threaten to kill him, and said teacher told

boy's mother's place of work ALL the INFO from The IEP meeting. This

young man NOW has just about everything he needs plus a little more.

The

legal rammifacations are still being looked at.

Effects of progressive relaxation training on the disruptive behavior

of a boy with autism.

As an autistic child acquired progressive relaxation skills, he

showed a decrease in the duration of his disruptive behaviors.
