Thanks for keeping up with that information...as I will update

my records!!

I have not seen any listings for a support groups here in GA, but

would be happy to start one, if anyone in the Metro Atlanta area is

interested. Please email me, and I will try to get us started. I know

here in Atlanta we are very spread out, but we could meet once a

month, and try to meet in a central location for all (if possible).

Anyone interested..please email me: Lizardo27@... (lizardo27 at aol.com)

Thanks all!

Liz

, that was really nice of you to put that list together. Sounds like we

may need another local support group. I had been talking to a gal I met in

Kennesaw about starting a group up on this side of town since the other group I

know of is in Fayetteville ( about 60 miles from me ). I already have two

support groups for parents of brain disordered kids - one is more political than

the other but has alot of the same members - but apraxia is not a diagnosis for

any other child in my groups except mine. The one thing that I have noticed,

though, is that I haven't seen too many folks whose child just has the motor

apraxia or developmental dyspraxia. I have to be honest- I am still really

confused about some of the terminology. I need to get back with this gal I met

and see if she wants to go forward with a new group. What do all the Atlanta

parents think ? , 42, Stargardt's disease with cone-related disorders

Children : ,12, developmental dyspraxia, NVLD, ADHD, mood disorder not

specified

Kristian, 27, Trisomy 13, severe MR, lives in group home

Andy, 23, lives at home, no diagnosis

Liz, I am interested. I have been talking with a gal I met in Kennesaw that was

also interested but she has seemed to not want to go ahead with it. I haven't

spoken with her since before the Holidays so I'll see if I can reach her. I

already do two support groups here in Atlanta so my time is somewhat limited on

the weekends. But I do not work outside my home and have a good bit of time

during the week to make phone calls, help organize, look for a meeting place,

whatever I could help with.

I'll be happy to help in anyway I can to form a group for Atlanta parents.

Maybe since we are all so spread out that we could

take turns having it at each one of our houses or something. At least that way

it would be fair to everyone as far as the drive

goes. It would be a good way for the kids to get together too.
