Guest guest
My name is . I am a married 36 yo mom of 3 and I was diagnoised in June of this year. I have my first appointment with a Rheumatologist in October.(There are only 3 in our state.) I am currently taking Bextra, but have tried Vioxx and Celebrex. My question is what is the difference between ANA # and RF? My dr did a blood test in June and my ANA was 68 and last week it was 86. I have been trying to learn all I can about this disease, can anyone recommend any good books to read or websites for more information. I have to say I have been blessed with a wonderful husband and kids who have been such a huge help and support with all this. Thank you,
Guest guest
When I first went to my allergist for allergic asthma I was given a series of skin tests for allergies. I pegged most of them ... pollens, mold, dust, animals, etc. In fact, I started slipping into anaphylatic shock just from the skin tests. I was put on Xolair. A little over a year later I was given the same series (after one week being off any kind of antihistame med, ie zytec) and I reacted to nothing. Actually, the Doc was surprised so proceeded to inject me with a wohle series of the allergens ... still no reaction ... nada ...nothing. " Huh " we both said. Must be the Xolair. And how do I feel? I feel like my life has been given back to me. Now in my 60's I'm rebuilding my physical strength and savoring every day of life. I find fresh air, which I can draw deep into my lungs, intoxicating. I work with people 30 years younger and find myself advising them on how to improve their health. Now i'm planning on some serious mountain climbing in the dead of winter. A few years ago, before getting help for my asthma, I struggled to walk up a slight grade and cringed at the though of stepping our in the cold. > > > > Greetings, > > I just learned about Xolair today from a new allergist I took my > son to. > > > > History: My son is 10.
