Clomipramine (Anafranil) withdrawal?

Hello gang,

I was wondering if anyone here has had any experiences with

withdrawing clomipramine/anafranil?

My son was diagnosed with Body Dysmorphic Disorder which is an OCD

spectrum disorder and is basically " imagined ugliness " . He was

placed on several psych meds and ended up on 5 of them and then his

thyroid problem was found. Once he was on the proper dosage of

Armour Thyroid he finally started doing much better. We eventually

came to understand that his thyroid problem was causing the BDD

symptoms he was experiencing.

With his doc's approval, we have spent the last year SUCCESSFULLY

removing all 5 of the psych drugs, by reducing one at a time, and

doing a 10% reduction every 2 weeks or so. We are now down to the

last one. He was originally taking 75 mgs of clomipramine and is down

to 40 mgs.

For some reason the withdrawals with this one has been the MOST

DIFFICULT for him and I was just wondering if anyone in the group has

had any experience getting off of this one.
