Guest guest
Joya: Hi! I just transferred out of Aetna's PPO here in New York. Under my company's plan, Aetna paid for only 20 sessions maximum of any therapy. My experience with them was terrible; anytime I communicated with them, I got a by-the-book lackey who just read my company's plan document and said we were not covered beyond 20 consecutive sessions for ANY reason. My advice is to speak with your company's or union's rep at Aetna. My company's rep came in to our office once and I grabbed her for interrogation. While in the end, she was unable to change anything for us, she did make calls for us and let us know of different options at Aetna for special needs children. Company/union reps are definitely light years ahead of dealing with the usual insurance examiners (at least in my experience at Aetna). Hope that helps! Guest guest
Thanks for the information. My husband's company just switched to Aetna PPO. I spent yesterday trying to get names of therapists and pre-authorization. I have lots more work to do.
