Hi..

I've been doing the Fuzeon shots for months now, and it's really not pleasant. Has anyone here been on this drug for a long period of time? Has anyone stopped because they couldn't handle all of the injecting, and lumps and redness, and soreness? Would appreciate any feedback.

thanks,

Hi all, I was on Fuzeon for over two years and it took

a while to get used to.....the trick to minimising discomfort is

learning where to inject (avoid the legs!) and getting a good

technique, keeping it sub cut and not going deeper is not always easy

and making sure to remember recent injection sites are

important....having said that I was using my pecs, lower back, buttocks

etc. I found using calamine lotion on injection site reactions helped

and I also took Loratadine prophylactically to help with redness and

irritation.....Eventually I got 'needle fatigue' and am now on

Raltegravir...

Best Wishes

There is a Nurse-to-patient Connections project where nurse educators make home visits to assit in educating/re-educating about self-injections plus there is also a toll-free number for phone consults (separate program). The former is a program managed by Maxim health Systems. To learn more about FUZEON Connections, call 877-4FUZEON (877-438-9366) or visit www.FUZEONconnections.com.

I've been on Fuzeon for a couple of years now... I JUST found a knack

for avoiding the injection site reactions by injecting in my tricep

area. I also make sure I inject at an angle (almost sideways) instead

of a deep straight-on injection, and stay close to the skin surface, as

opposed to going deep. I still get the lumps/bumps but they are less

painful than the belly and thighs. The Fuzeon people will send a nurse

to your home to review your techniques to see if they can give you any

pointers... go to the Fuzeon website and check it out.

My t-cells have gone from 1 to 900 so it's definitely worth the

inconvenience and pain.

Hi,

I've been using Fuzeon for nearly 2 yrs. now. I, also, had injection site

problems and asked

if there was anything that could help lessen them.

My doctor said he had a " novel idea " and suggested we try me on Fuzeon 1 week

and then

OFF Fuzeon for the next... alternating every other week.

I was tested numerous times during this trial and found that my viral load

STAYED

undetectable even though I was on one week and then off 1 week.

We've done this now for over 5 months and I have continued to be undetectable!!!

Ask your doctor about doing 1 week on and then 1 one week off.... 1/2 the time

I'm

lump/bumps free!!!
