Guest guest
Same here. I don't think size has anything to do with it. Lindsey is small for her age. She is 34 pounds fully dressed and 41 or 42 inches with shoes. She is 5.7 Lindsey's site http://lindsey03.homestead.com/mygirl.html
Guest guest
I don't think that size necessarily has anything to do with any delays. In my daughter's case, the dr. was found to be wrong in his quick assumption that she had an overgrowth syndrome. However, with some kids, there is a real connection between size and delays, namely Sotos Syndrome which is one of many overgrowth syndromes. However, even if a child has an overgrowth syndrome, the therapies are still the same. I am still on the sotos egroup list because there are similarities such as low tone and speech delays. Thanks, Carolyn
Guest guest
Hi Liz My is small for his age too. I always figured it was due to his problems feeding as a baby & reflux. Now he is such a terrible eater, that probably is the biggest factor currently. If there were some link to apraxia & size I would think it would tend to be small, since many had oral apraxia as infants & it affected the eating. Wish we all had some answers, it would put some of our minds at ease. How is the snow? We almost jumped in the car & headed your way this weekend. We have 3 generations that have never seen snow down here in St. Pete. Maybe next time it snows we will be in your part of the world. Enjoy it!! Tammy in FL mom to 3.8 apraxic [ ] Size and apraxia I have heard alot of comments about the children being taller or larger and having apraxia...my daughter is small for her age, she is one of the smallest in her class, she will be 5 in May, and really looks more like she is in her late 3's. Just a comment... Liz http://kidstalkback.tripod.com/kidstalkback/
