Guest guest
Hi, I started my son on ProEFA several months ago and we saw dramatic improvement immediately. He made wonderful progress for about 4-5 months and then it started tapering. We really felt he was at a plateau and so we switched him to a product called Heritage Health Products-Omega 3. We again started seeing dramatic results. Just my own opinion but I think that maybe their bodies build up somewhat of an immunity to a certain product and that it may be beneficial to change them occassionally. As far as the junk food, I don't know. I had gestational diabetes when I was pregnant with Corey and so I was on a very strict, non-junk food diet. He is my child with apraxia. I also have 2 year old twins now that do not have apraxia and I know I ate way more junk food during that pregnancy than I did with Corey. I wish there was an answer as to why there are so many children now being diagnosed with apraxia than ever before. Not just apraxia but also the reported cases of autism is up substantially as well. It almost seems like something environmental or something. I have noticed many more people in this group from the Northeastern part of the country than anywhere else. We live in Missouri which is centrally located - so it just doesn't make sense to me. Hoping for answers one day. Pam, mother to Corey-4 yrs w/apraxia [ ] Efalex working better!!! I had my daughter on ProEFA from Nov. 8 to Dec. 26 and saw minimal results. Her vocab increased 7 words and her balance issues improved and her signing also improved. On Dec. 27 I switched her to Efalex and her vocab increased another 7 words and her balance and signing continue to improve. I was wondering if anyone else has experienced the same results. My daughters ST said that she is seeing more and more kids come in with Apraxia. I also spoke with a woman that works at a Health Food Store and she made the comment that this junk that we are eating now is messing up our kids. What does everyone else think about that? I am excited and thrilled that I found this site and learned about these products. I also want to say THANKS to everyone for being so supportive and for just being there. One more thing is anyone out there from the NE Indiana area? I know of myself and one other person on this site. Thanks again, S. Guest guest
What wonderful news! I guess it is another sign that kids react to different things. I think in Dr. Stordy's book it said to give it 3 months. If you end up switching back if she plateaus, let us know! --- In @y..., " sillybear65 " <sillybear65@h...> wrote: > I had my daughter on ProEFA from Nov. 8 to Dec. 26 and saw minimal > results. Guest guest
My son does better on the Efalex also but for different reasons. He talks more on either one of them but the ProEFA causes behavior problems he crys alot more, wakes up from naps crying and is not cooperative. I still give him one about once a week and all of the other days efalex. I also noticed he wakes up more at night on the ProEFA. I have a nine month old daughter too. She has the opposite effect. I started her on Efalex and she did more crying. I switched her to ProEFA ,1 aday and she does great on it. She DOES babble more on the ProEFA. It is so great to hear her babble. I do think all kids must have individual needs as to which EFA helps them. I too wonder what has caused the apraxia . Sometimes I think its genetic and other times I wonder about our environment(which would include among many other things, all of the junk in our foods) A woman who had her son across the street from us also has a son with apraxia. I hope sometime to know what causes it. It wont help us now, but hopefully it could help to prevent it in other children. Congratulations on the improvement!lol It is the greatest feeling to watch your childs communication take steps forward!
