I'm sure many of you went through the genetic testing. > But did any of you ever have the wrist XRay done of your child's > wrist? Mollie had this Xray done and it was for the same reason....to calculate her bone age. I think they found her bone age to about 14 and she was 8 at the time. Who knows what significance that is. Mollie had the test done as a part of a clinical study she participated in. they don't have a lot of info on her syndrome. We went to TX for a week and they ran every test in the book. It was a long and stressful week but we did get a lot of information about the syndrome and Mollie. ~~~~~~~~~~*~~~~~~~~~~ (AKA Mollie's Mom) and Mollie 9 years old 1p36.22 deletion :>) ~~~~~~~~~~*~~~~~~~~~~
Guest guest
Yes, I had my daughter's wrist xrayed to determine bone age. The reason for this is to determine if there is an overgrowth syndrome such as Sotos syndrome. My daughter's xray revealed that her bone age was exactly her actual age to the very month. So, the Sotos expert (Dr. Schaffer) from the Un. of Nebraska who I had sent her records to and was consulting with over the phone (at no charge!) determined that there was no overgrowth syndrome especially after looking at the xray and brain mri which also didn't show any overgrowth of the brain parts just a large normal brain.
