Guest guest
I took my daughter to the Pediatric Neurologist today and to say the least I was very disappointed!!!! I told him that I felt that my daughter had Apraxia and he said nothing to me. I then, proceeded and said I don't know how well read you are on Apraxia but, they have found that Omega 3 and Omega 6 fatty acids are helping. He then spoke up and said, I don't know if I believe that. They haven't done enough studies on the subject, but you are welcome to try. I said well, I am giving them to her and I have seen results. I told him what I was giving her and again he said nothing. She is currently diagnosed with Developmental Delay. She is not Developmentally Delayed, her only problem is her speech. I am getting so mad. I don't know where to go for her education, and I think that her dx should be changed. I currently in search of a Pediatric Neurologist who knows something about Apraxia, in my area. I am also in search of what to do in terms of school. I don't know if our Special Education Co-op teachers know sign shouldn't that be a definite condition when teaching Special ed kids? I don't like our Co-op program anyway, and I plan to stay as far away as possible. Does anyone have any suggestions for me? Thanks in advance, Sheila
Guest guest
Hi Sheila Sounds like we use the same ped neurologist. This just came up with my son not even a month ago. The doctor pretty much said the same thing word for word. I feel like this - if it can not hurt the child and you have researched and feel comfortable - try it. I tried the stuff myself for a few days before I gave it to Chris. I have found all of our doctors to be highly skeptical about this. I bet everyone else on the list will tell you the same thing. The doctors just will not believe it unless they have some sort of clinical evidence to support it.
