Guest guest
I wanted to ask all you folks for your advice/comments on how to get rid of flat warts I have had on my left hand/arm for the last 4 years. Most recently the little buggers have started to show up on my arm forearm and hand. I have been on meds for 15 years - with moderate success. Never undetectable and tcells about 200-300. However, over the last few months I finally have gone undetectable(well 68), but my tcells are still only around 200. I should say that I also have high liver enzymes - 100 to 200 AST and I also am diabetic. I should say I also don't drink or smoke. I eat well and work out very regularly. In the past, the Drs. have tried aldara cream, effudex and also a long series of sessions with liquid nitrogen. At best it seems that all this effort does is to keep things in check. Although, I wonder what is going on recently. My limited recent research on the web has shown that some folks have had good luck with Accutane and Cidovir. I would be most appreciative if you could provide me with any info or experience with this treatments. A couple of things come to mind. How do you get insurance to pay for the Cidovir(it is so expensive). And, is a low dose of 25mg of Accutane for 6 weeks effective and is it really all that hard on the liver. Thank you all so much. This has been one of those quality of life things that has really gotten to me. I find myself covering my hand around people, etc. Neal
