Guest guest
1) Is ED a side-effect of long term HIV?2) Is ED a side-effect of long term medication use?3) Are there particular HIV meds that may cause ED?4) Is ED part of aging (I'm 50)?5) Could the effects of Cialis have worn off for me and I need toswitch to Levitra or Viagra? As says, many of us are reaching an age where "ED" is a problem. (It suddenly occurs to me that "Mr Ed" might be a great spokesperson for aging baby boomers.) At 50, some degree of ED is all too common. Many issues facing people with HIV are due to vascular disease. Smoking is a huge issue. Exercise and weight control vital. With all of the drugs we take, it would almost surprise me if there weren't some interactions. Some of the hormonal gains we've been playing probably also have a cost.If Cialis is not working, you might try one of the others. If not, there are several prescription injectables, like Caverject.JB
Guest guest
I don't think I've seen mention here of the oldest prescribed sex drug, Yohimbine. For some, it maybe the most effective, however it has potential side effects for some people more than others. It increases peripheral circulation in the penis, nipples, etc... and increases sensitivity in those areas, and overall in the senses. It warms the body because of the increased circulation. It also has an indirect stimulant effect that can be quite irritating for some people, especially if the dosage is too high. It can elevate blood pressure, so this must be considered. It's generic and very inexpensive if you have to pay for it. Co-pay is typically $10 per 100. Dosage is listed as three 5.4 mg tablets per day, but 1/4 to 1/2 tablet before sex can work very well. Three 5.4 mg tablets per day seems like an intolerable dose to me. Taken at the right dose for the individual one hour before sex, typically an erection with a mind of its own appears between 45 and 60 minutes. It is quite different than the " passive " drugs like Viagra and Cialis, where you have to have something stimulate your brain to get an erection, as Yohimbine causes erections to happen. Its effect lasts for a few hours. It also works quite well in partnership with drugs like Viagra and Cialis. Guest guest
i take yohimbe capsules from Vitamin SHoppe for energy, they're 8mg each, and i take one at lunch as an 8-12 hour energy boost along with a caffeine pill to get me through my post-lunch crash. taking 2 or more (16+) mg usually makes me very jittery indeed, and if i take more than 1 per day i make sure it's at least 12 hours apart. i take very low dose cialis or levitra every few days (i'm on norvir 100mg BID) and combined with the yohimbine my stiffies are very useful and menacing! beware, besides being a stimulant, yohimbine becomes mildly hallucinogenic as u approach 50mg or higher...NOT a dose for people on meds to attempt...and those doses r jItTeRy indeed! i've known about its other effects since i read " the magical and ritual use of herbs " by richard alan miller as a teen in 1988. many herbalists react to yohimbe as if it were black magic to even try...its stimulant properties are a concern for many. Guest guest
I don't know if anybody has mentionned the effects of L Arginine for ED but I know a few friends who have reported miracles... and it is quite safe and regulates blood pressure! The most efficient to take is a pink powder that you dissolve in water, but they do other capsules etc...From: jetonxxx <jeton@...>Subject: Re:Erectile dysfunction and HIV Date: Monday, December 29, 2008, 3:59 AM i take yohimbe capsules from Vitamin SHoppe for energy, they're 8mg each, and i take one at lunch as an 8-12 hour energy boost along with a caffeine pill to get me through my post-lunch crash. taking 2 or more (16+) mg usually makes me very jittery indeed, and if i take more than 1 per day i make sure it's at least 12 hours apart. i take very low dose cialis or levitra every few days (i'm on norvir 100mg BID) and combined with the yohimbine my stiffies are very useful and menacing! beware, besides being a stimulant, yohimbine becomes mildly hallucinogenic as u approach 50mg or higher...NOT a dose for people on meds to attempt...and those doses r jItTeRy indeed! i've known about its other effects since i read "the magical and ritual use of herbs" by richard alan miller as a teen in 1988. many herbalists react to yohimbe as if it were black magic to even try...its stimulant properties are a concern for many.
