Guest guest
All - FYI, Yesterday while attending a meeting at Kowalski's, I was told about the limited run at Kowalski's of an heirloom variety of oranges - Sky Valley navel oranges. Apparently someone has taken old root stock from a type of orange commonly sold during the first half of the 20th century, and has begun growing them again. These oranges are the variety that put California on the map as an orange producer. They tend to be smaller, thinner skinned, and yield fewer oranges than those developed since. However, the flavor is fantastic! They are selling through Kowalski's stores for $3.99 per four pound bag while they last. I bought some yesterday and they are extremely flavorful and juicy. They do not, however, say that they're certified organic.
