Guest guest
Hi Janet, We decided to add a little water to help conduct the heat but there is nothing in the instructions. Best wishes, Sandy > > > Hi, > Does anyone know if I should put water into the outer case of a yogurt maker (lakeland model) before starting to ferment it? Sandy do I remember rightly you doing this? I've just boiled milk and waiting for it to cool - there is nothing about adding water in the yogurt maker instructions but on the pecan website it says to fill the outer container with water. Not sure what do. > Thank you, Janet >

Guest guest
I also have the Lakeland yogurt maker and never heard of putting water in it. It makes yogurt just fine without water. -Ann > > > Does anyone know if I should put water into the outer case of a yogurt maker (lakeland model) before starting to ferment it? Guest guest
I tried making raw milk yogurt but it didn't quite work. Can anyone help me? I did 2 cups milk, 2 cups cream warmed to 110 degrees. Took off heat, added 2 tbsp of my other raw milk yogurt from the farm and put it in the crock pot (in a covered jar) surrounded by 110 degree water and covered by 8 hours. It is tangy and yummy. But it's cream on the top and liquid on the bottom and the same consistency as cream not as the previous yogurt batch. Very runny with no chunks like I normally see it being. What did I do wrong? Can I fix it or is it ruined? I should still be able to use it for soaking at least, right? I'm hoping I can fix it and make it more chunky. It tastes tangy and yummy. Thanks! I still need to get with it and figure out the kefir thing. Can't wait.
