Guest guest
From the time I was a child, I was noted to have extraordinary powers of short and long term memory. I started on lipitor some years ago to reduce my cholestoral. I had been on a 10mg/day dose for sometime and eventually noticed a decline in my short and long term memory abilitites. The decline in short term memory was far greater than the long term. At one point, my memory problem became so bad that I thought I was developing alzheimers. I spoke with my sister who was also on a similar dose of lipitor and she too reported the same problem. She did some research online and found a doctor in San Diego who is conducting extensive research into the relationship  of statins and their possible effects on memory. I did not register for the research. However, I did cut back on the dose. I started to take 1 10mg pill ever other day. After about 2 weeks I noticed a remarkable difference. The memory loss I had experienced had abated and the reduction in the dosage had absolutely no effect on my cholesteral whatsoever. I have maintained this dosage for several years now with success.
