I was talking to earlier today (sorry we talked

so long !!!) and she wanted me to post about what

I've been giving Dylan because his results have

completely amazed us!

I wasn't prepared to wait for Efalex or ProEFA to come

through the mail (I waited so long for talking, a few

days seemed like too long to wait to DO something!) so

I went to one of our pharmacy chain stores and

searched for Omegas. Of course there was nothing.

HOWEVER. when I looked for fish oil and evening

prirose oil/borage oil I came across the stores

generic brand. The had a special deal for fish oil

concentrate - buy one get one free, so I got it

($9.99)

and the evening primrose oil was about $7. ALtogether

I have about a 90 supply of each.

I've been giving Dylan 2 fish oils (EPA 360mg, DHA

240mg) and 1 evening primrose oil (GLA 45mg)each day.

I open each capsule with a pin and pour the oil on to

a medicine spoon with a little bit of juice - the

sweeter the juice the better the taste. I even tried

mixing it with his cough medicine for a few days when

he had a cold. With in two weeks everyone is

commenting on how he is returning to the happy little

boy he was at a year old. Once he hit 14months he

stopped really babbling, and didn't smile

spontaneously (you had to tickle him or really make

him laugh to get any kind of smile) and started to

withdraw. Now he is more attentive, more ready to

make eye contact, amd tries new things. His preschool

teacher and occupational therapist both said he seems

to have new confidence even if he isn't able to be

understood any more than he was a few months ago. But

he is trying and acting like his old self again. This

is on a generic and much cheaper type of omega

supplement. I haven't used the ProEFA yet, and this

has been working so well I'm afraid to change him now.

I'd like to hear from anyone else who has tried

generic brands and see how they worked for you. Or

has everyone just been trying the ProEFA or Efalex?
