Dear all,

I want to share my sister's case at this forum.

About 6 months ago, she also suffered from " asymmetrical pains " and doctors kept dismissing RA on the grounds that RA pains are always symmetrical which is wrong.

Initially she had pains in one joint only and later it spread to others. She also started having morning stiffness and her finger joints started bending. After being diagnosed with RA (3 months AFTER the start of first symptom) she was asked to take steroids (to reduce joints swellings which is very dangerous for joints), methotrexate, folic acid, calcium supplements, ansaids (to reduce pain and to control inflammation) and her condition is better these days as compared to 2 months before.

Another important thing is, whenever you go for blood test, don't just ask for " RA Factor " , rather ask for " RA Factor with Titer " . This second test finds the exact amount of RA Factor in one's blood and not just the presence or absence of it.

GOD bless you all,

Hassan
