Guest guest
Hi all, I started my daughter, (2.9, verbal apraxia, some SI issues), on efa's (started with Coromega-she hated it, loves the ProEfa!) 16 days ago. developed a mild form of eczema or atopic dermatitis at around 1.5, mostly on her chest, tummy and armpits. After trial and error, I had it pretty much under control with only a " spot " or two erupting here and there now and then. also has an allergy to milk, so is on soy formula, which due to concerns of too much soy, I've cut back, substituting rice milk. Anyway, just before the efa's, and possibly due to less of the formula, she suddenly started breaking out all over. But now, after almost 2 weeks of ProEfa (I'm alternating giving her 1 and 2 capsules/day)---there is not one sign of eczema on her!!! I am confident it is the supplements. As for the speech, it's a little too soon to tell, but she seems to be getting a little closer to the words she's going for. Even before the efa's, she was trying more and more words. Now she seems to be trying even more (my family, who didn't know about the ProEfa noticed too). There's still a long way to go with the articulation, but I'm hoping the efa's will give her a little boost. (I couldn't get enough of her saying " apple pie " on New Year's -she naile it perfectly!) At this point, I couldn't be more thrilled about the eczema alone (I was hoping it might help, but this is better than I'd hoped even), and I hope it keeps it away. Guest guest
Hi, Traci. I think that is referred to as groping. It means the child is looking for the way to say certain words - trying to figure out how to position their lips, tongue, etc. I would imagine it is a great sign! Guest guest
Hi and Kennedy, It sounds like progress to me!! My son Jack now almost 3 started the pro-efa last September when he was 27 1/2 months he had about 10 words that were fairly intellegible, with some sounds. He had been in thearapy since 18 months with the progress of 10 words that we could barely understand.2 weeks after starting the pro-efa we noticed more babbling, different sounds he was making that turned into words in the following 2 weeks. It was like he crammed the early years when kids start babbling and then turn those babbles into part of words then into actual words then into 2 words together then imitating in like 4 weeks. So yes it is normal, and it makes me so happy to read your story because it is just a testament that pro-efa are a god send to anyone that it works for. Good luck Eileen mom to Jack almost 3 Oral apraxia, SId and 17 months and taking EFA's too!!! --- roddyt001 <roddyt001@...> wrote: > Hi, my almost 2 yo daughter has been on ProEFA for a > week now. > Within a couple days of starting, she began moving > her mouth in > funny positions and making funny sounds and noises. > Would this be > considered good?
