It is called " non-refundable " because, even if you don't use the full amount, you do not receive a refund for the difference. " Of special note to those of us with children who require intensive speech therapy: " Expanded certification of Form T2201, Disability Tax Credit Certificate Subsection 118.3(1)(a.2) of the Income Tax Act was expanded to allow persons authorized to practice as speech language pathologists to certify the existence of a severe and prolonged speech impairment for purposes of the disability tax credit. This change has taken effect October 18, 2000.
