Guest guest
Hi I am so excited we are having a picnic for all the dyspraxic children and their families. I went to the first meeting only two months ago so am looking forward to the picnic I am also a bit apprehensive as all the people at the meeting I attended their children had developmental dyspraxia and has developmental dyspraxia and verbal and oral dyspraxia. It's stupid really I know that they will all be accepting and my husband will be there he is my support and comfort always. My 10 year old girl (not dyspraxic) said " great I will be surrounded by people who can't talk! " I guess that's how she sees it. I explained to her that this won't be the case and she was happy with that. I really feel sorry for her as she is so sociable and loves talking and listening and is at a two year old level he does say 5-6 word sentences but not understandable to most people. Is this where a six and a half year old should be at? There is no age limit he was 6 when diagnosed had a speech therapist prior to diagnosis and in preschool. In the shower tonight he says " dada o tol me " (heater on cold me) he pointed at the heater while asking. I aget so disheartened knowing school is starting on 30 January and he is going to a new school and has a few people he knows and I know how mean kids are and he is such a funny confident little boy I don't want him to loose that. Sorry to moan just need to sometimes as we all do. See ya. Welcome to new people great to have ya all aboard. Every ones storys are so different and yet so similar. Take care all Michele
