Actually:

(Genesis 1:28)

And God blessed them, and God said unto them, " Be fruitful, and

multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion

over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every

living thing that moveth upon the earth. "

" Replenish " appears here. " Go forth " doesn't.

" Peru u'revu " (the Bible was written in Japanese) which would translate to " Be

fruitful and multiply. " The entire passage is " Be fruitful and multiply, fill

the world and subdue it "

No replenishment, since the story is that these were the first people, but

that's the basis for some religious groups advocating large families.

No.

The Old Testament uses mostly Hebrew, with some bits in Aramaic.

The New Testament uses Greek (with the occasional word in Aramaic).

> No replenishment, since the story is that these were the first people,

" Replenish " didn't mean " refill " till modern times - in the days when

King I's royal committee wrote the most common English

translation of the Bible, the word still meant only " fill " - see, for

instance, the discussion at

http://www.answersingenesis.org/creation/v18/i2/replenish.asp

(Even in present-day English, " re- " does not always mean " again " -

e.g.,

" respect/regard/rebuff/receive/reject/release/remain/renege/request/retire. " )
