Guest guest
Hello, Has anyone used Super Nu-Thera from KIRKMAN LABS? It is a multivitamin that has benefits for increasing speech and decreasing self stim, just to name a few. I'm interested in trying this for my son, it is safe to give with Pro-EFA's he is already on. I would appreciate any comments . THanks Alisha-Zeb's mom. Guest guest
My son uses this product, SuperNuThera from Kirkmans. Some advice I can give you is to order the small, sample bottles first. The product comes in several different formulations, and sometimes you need to find what's best by experimenting! Our first choice resulted in hyperactivity, so we tried another formulation, which lessened the behaviors . . . but we also needed to supplement with folic acid. The folks at Kirkmans are VERY helpful over the phone to help you choose the best combination. Oh -- and start out small -- do not give the full dose right away -- our kids need to work up to it gradually over the course of a couple weeks. And don't start SuperNuThera along with any other " new " regimen -- in fact, always start " new " products individually so you can tell which ones are and aren't effective for your child. I made the mistake of adding DMG and SuperNuThera at the same time, and we weren't sure which one was contributing to the hyperactivity. -BJ in polis, MD
Guest guest
I tried the super nu thera with my daughter when she was 2 and 1/2. She had an allergic reaction-the " burnt but " syndrome-her rare end was all red. I didn't see a difference with the super nu thera but I know others have. I don't see why the proefa would conflict with it. Carolyn
Guest guest
We tried it some 5 years ago with my daughter. She soon had a rash on the outside of her butt, called a " burned butt, " which is an allergic response. Then we tried their hypoallergenic version and had no problems. My daughter never had an allergic reaction to any vitamin besides this one. Carolyn
Guest guest
How did you get her to take it? (before you stopped. poor thing!) We tried giving it to our son for a few days, but it was so nasty that we stopped. And this is a kid who will suck down those nasty brown liquid vitamins with little or no protest. Thanks! > > We tried it some 5 years ago with my daughter. She soon had a rash on the > outside of her butt, called a " burned butt, " which is an allergic response. Guest guest
Hi, I am using Nu-Thera with my son in capsules (they are very small). I either put the capsules on a spoon (the whole capsule) when I am giving him yougurt - I usually buy a thick one like tricks or chocolate pudding and he swallows them and does not even notice. You could also try opening a capsule and mixing it on his drinks, nutella, peanut butter (something thick) I am not sure how it tastes but it is worth a try since you can order the trial size from kirkman for about $3.50 Deborah. michellerichardslavin <michellelavin@...> wrote: How did you get her to take it? Guest guest
We give it to our son via oral syringe and dilute with water. We squirt it in his mouth like we've done with all his meds in the past. He has been on lots of meds attempting to get seizure control so he's used to the drill - but he certainly doesn't like it.
