Guest guest
Hi It's interesting that you brought that up. My older brother (who is now 41yr.) has apraxia. My mom said they did not know what apraxia was back than. But after reading up on apraxia she said my brother fits it to a " T " . He never recieved therapy and he did start talking untill 4 or 41/2 yrs. My olders sister did everything for him, all he did was point. He had a tongue thrust, you can see it in pictures. He talks fine today, but he doesn't talk alot! My father has problems talking as well, he talks fine, but when he talks alot he stutters a little, also has a tongue thrust when he is concentrating on hammering a nail. I thing apraxia IS genetic!! My mom keeps saying she looks at my boys and says they remind her so much of my brother when he was younger, she wished she knew about apraxia and had him in speech too.
