Guest guest
Hi Gillian, I'm In the UK too!!!!!! I have two special needs children and who is 5yrs 5mo is the one I wish to give EYE Q to. We tried it once last year, but he had diahorrea with it, but after reading all on this site, and being told that for some children (Tom is very allergic to all sorts of things) that it can be up to 3 weeks before their system adjusts. We are going to put Tom back on EYE Q at half term here in February, so at least the first week on it he will be at home, and fingers crossed he'll only have diahorrea for a short while!!! Tom has speech and language problems as well as hypotonia, dyspraxia/ataxia due to the hypotonia and neurologists feel it is an undiagnosed syndrome that my two darlings have, but as of yet, no test results have been able to give any answers!!! Tom since 8 months old as been diagnosed as moderately deaf, then they changed their minds (!!!!) and has had inconclusive results ever since. Last Nov he finally had a conclusive result and it appears that he may suffer from intermittent glue ear as well as everything else, and that it may be possible for him to have hearing aids again as it's been proven up north that hearing aids can assist glue ear children, which I've only just found out as they don't like to practice it here in Devon! We are not keen for grommets to be fitted due to the anaestheasia(??spelling) involved. I know I've waivered away from the original subject, but if you ever want to email me direct concerning your son, and with regards to the support and help he receives at school (I'm pretty much an old hand at the statmenting process we have here, I'm assuming may be same in Scotland) and I have been able with the schools help to get Education to provided full time one-to-one support and Meal time assistants for my two little blessings. So, if you every need to have a UK contact, then please feel free to email me. GOOD LUCK with the PRO-EFA - we will all be waiting with interest to see how Craig gets on. Love Sharon.(from very very wet and windy North Devon, England)
