Guest guest
Dear Jess Sexual dysfunction has been reported in several studies in HIV. Â Of course, it does not help that we are all getting older also. 1) Is ED a side-effect of long term HIV? THERE ARE SOME REPORTS THAT MENTION HIGHER INCIDENCE OF ED IN HIVERS 2) Is ED a side-effect of long term medication use? NOT SURE REALLY. NO DATA ON THIS 3) Are there particular HIV meds that may cause ED? NO DATA SINCE PHASE III AND IV STUDIES DO NOT ASK THAT QUESTION. 4) Is ED part of aging (I'm 50)? YEAH, AND OTHER FACTORS 5) Could the effects of Cialis have worn off for me and I need to switch to Levitra or Viagra? CIALIS IS LONG ACTING BUT MANY PEOPLE REPORT BETTER SHORT TERM AND FASTER RESPONSE WITH VIAGRA AND LEVITRA. My testosterone levels have been mixed-- free really high, serum low. I tried Androgel for two months, but it had little effect on either the testosterone levels or the ability to get a good erection. I WOULD TRY A 5 % GEL FROM APSMEDS.COM WITH A PRESCRIPTION. TESTIM AND ANDROGEL HAVE 1% WHICH MAY NOT BE ENOUGH FOR MANY I particularly hate Cialis, Viagra and Levitra. The heartburn, headaches, flushing, and diarrhea that I get are just not worth it. Cialis is also known to cause lower back ache.If you take Norvir, you need to be aware that the blood levels of these drugs will increase and so will the side effects. Cut a Viagra pill in four pieces and try one and see. Some people freak out about TRIMIX, an injection in your penis that works wonders. I love it. You can read more in my new web site:http://medicalformulas.com/erectiledysfunction.html I get mine also from apsmeds.com or gotothecompoundingshop.com Here is an old post in my blog about this subject http://survivinghiv.blogspot.com/2008/01/best-erectile-dysfunction-options-in-us.html Erectile dysfunction and HIV Just wondering whether anyone on the board has had a problem with erectile dysfunction, especially those who've been=2 0poz a long time. Over about the past 10 years it's become harder and harder (no pun intended) for me to get an erection. About 3 years ago my doc gave me a prescription for Cialis. Seemed to work great, though the sinus and headache side effects weren't fun. Now even the Cialis doesn't do much. I've been poz for 25 years. Am wondering... 1) Is ED a side-effect of long term HIV? 2) Is ED a side-effect of long term medication use? 3) Are there particular HIV meds that may cause ED? 4) Is ED part of aging (I'm 50)? 5) Could the effects of Cialis have worn off for me and I need to switch to Levitra or Viagra? I realize ED can be caused by lots of factors, both physiological and psycological. However, am thinking maybe I should see a urologist about all this and get it figured out. The ED is messing up my sex life and makes me feel sort of pitiful. Any thoughts or comments appreciated. Thanks, Jess. ------------------------------------ Welcome to our group!
