Guest guest
Hey , That is a pretty good way to go with it! Most of us can not and don't need the organic certification thing anyway. It is far too expensive and it does not really pay for itself unless we are marketing to grocery stores or the like. Another good " certification " to look for tho is Certified Naturally Grown. It is much cheaper than organic and run by normal people. It does not have the required paperwork load either and is more strict with meat and dairy. The problem is that many people get hung up on that naturally part and walk past. There are a few farms in MN that are certified and at the markets too. A lot of people don't seem to realize that we can get in a tad bit of trouble for advertising as organic if not certified. It creates problems when advertising CSA's or grass fed this and that. Most people hear the " no, we are not certified " and end the conversation. That is really too bad because I know of many people around me who do not use antibiotics, growth hormones, GMO's, and have true grass fed critters. And they are outside. Same with veggies, I know many who do not use any chemicals on the gardens, we all do it the " olde farm " style. And the list of chemicals the USDA approves for organic is quite scary in my opinion! lol
