Guest guest
I just thought I would let you know about my new " experiment " . I've decided to try to teach my daughters to read. They turned 5 in November, and we are waiting to put them in kindegarten in the fall. Anyway, a couple of kids in 's class have learned to read from their mothers using this book " How to Teach Your Child to Read in 100 Easy Lessons " . I got the book, and we're on the 3rd lesson. I like the book because it is very speech oriented. I think that will be reading after we finish the book, but I'm not sure about . 's the one with the severe apraxia. I do think that no matter what the language practice in the book is going to be great for both girls. I'm anxious to see how they do. I would be really thrilled if I could get to start reading. I don't know if she should be in a special education kindegarten or in a regular one. I'm hoping by trying this I'll have a better feel for how she'll do in kindegarten. Anyway, the girls really like the lessons. They only take 15 minutes a day. We do the reading, and then we do speech homework. I'll let everyone know how they do with the lessons.
