I posed this question to Joette Calabrese but I thought I'd shoot it out to the

group to get feedback. What do you all think? Coincidence???

Hi Joette,

I'd like to hear your take on homeopathic remedies passing through breastmilk to

babies and working on the baby. I'd like an email response but it might be a

good article for your blog. With a 9mo old teething, I've been getting very

little sleep. Although the homeopathic remedies I give him work, a few hours

later he wakes up in pain. I had gotten in the habit of not sleeping and was

having a hard time even falling asleep. Took coffea cruda and it worked like

magic. I took it about 30 mins before I went tto bed and breastfed the baby. We

slept all night until 6 am that next morning. Both baby and me. Wow. My husband

and I thought it was a coincidence, but sure enough the next night I did it and

it worked again. The night I forgot he was up all night. I couldn't believe it.

I certainly wasn't expecting results in him. Have you heard of this? We are very

pleased. Do you know how long we would need to take it before sleeping becomes

" a habit " again? Or do you think it's wise to continue for the next few months

while he is still teething? Ty for your info!!!

Since no one else has jumped on this question, can homeopathic remedies transfer

to the baby via breast milk, I'll speak of my beliefs.

First of all, there are no actual molecules of the remedy source in any

homeopathic diluted beyond 6C, so certainly nothing material transfers. This

leaves energy as the only affect that could transfer. And, clearly, it has been

demonstrated that energy can be exchanged between all living things. Therefore

the baby could get an energy change both from contact with the patient, and,

bodily fluids (milk in this case) would reflect the energy difference. When mom

is upset or anxious, the baby gets that, when mom is calm, the baby gets that in

the same manner.

The absolute best text reference explaining energy exchange, in my experience,

is STEPHEN BUHNER's masterpiece the " SECRET TEACHINGS OF PLANTS-The Intelligence

of the Heart in the Direct Perception of Nature " . Read this and you will never

think the same about healing, illness and life energy again.

Hi,

I studied homeopathy at Northwestern Academy for Homeopathy and have been using

it most of my life.

The remedies will work through your breast-milk, it will be more gentle for the

baby this way. I do this for my own, especially when they are newborns. Many

homeopaths do this, it's not uncommon. Not knowing the potency you gave to the

baby directly it's hard telling why it didn't last as long, it may have needed

to be repeated or a higher potency. There are so many variables.

Do you see a professional homeopath? It sounds like you got the remedy spot on

which can be difficult sometimes with babies.

Feel free to contact me with any other questions. I'd be happy to help. I'm not

practicing now, but I'm willing to help with acutes such as these.
