Guest guest
Hi , That is so amazing about how the naturopath your family goes to has helped you. Are you in the New York area by any chance - I would love to find a naturopath not only for my apraxic daughter, but for myself and my husband. I have recently been diagnosed with thyroid and parathyroid problems and am not reacting well to the medication. After seeing how well my daughter has done with ProEFA, I am very open to alternative therapies. I think we can all relate to and sympathize with receiving, or hearing about those obnoxious comments about our kids' issues. Now, because my daughter is doing so well, I keep hearing that I did all this therapy for nothing. That really hurts because I know what a struggle every word is for her and how hard she and I have worked for it. Can't wait to hear how the naturopathic treatment works for your son. Guest guest
Hi Barbara, Sorry for the delay in replying--it has been busy around here to say the least. Unfortunately, the ND I go to is in Windsor, Ontario, Canada--pretty far from the NY area. He seems to have many US patients, though (from Detroit, MI and surrounding area) since we're on the border. This is his website address (if you're interested in learning more): http://www.kent.net/Healthyou/GPrytula.htm#Greg I have no news yet on Lucas's behaviour (still sleeping) but we went to the ND yesterday and the fungus is GONE! It is such a relief since I've known about it for over a year and I was unable to get him to take the stuff to get rid of it. Apparently, the Efalex acted as an anti-inflammatory which reduced the fungus so he was able to take an easier " remedy " . Also, I think I should mention that he didn't just have a fungal infection. The ND seems to get rid of infections in a certain order; usually virus first, then bacteria, then fungus, then other things such as pesticides, heavy metals, etc. (if you have them, of course). We have been on this " healing path " for quite some time now. Lucas had a bunch of infections on the same part of his brain. We noticed improvements at different times as the various infections went away. Last night, Lucas was trying to ask for ice cubes and it sounded like he was saying " ice cubes " !!!! I noticed late yesterday that he was putting two " words " together quite often--he hasn't done that yet. Today should be a better indicator but I don't want to get my hopes up and be disappointed. Our experience has been that after infections get removed, sometimes you have to let your body do the rest and it sometimes takes a bit of time (a few weeks or a few months). I know it sounds bizarre but once you've " been converted " it makes absolute sense and the status quo seems absolutely totally bizarre! Anyhow, I know this is getting long but I wanted to mention that the reason for my original post was that if there were others out there who were feeling guilty that perhaps they didn't include enough fish in their own diet while pregnant and that's why their child is deficient in the EFAs, it's not necessarily true. The infection Lucas had was depleting the brain of the EFAs or DHA (not quite sure which) and it had nothing to do with my (or his) diet. This was a HUGE HUGE relief for me and I wanted to share it. There's enough " mother guilt " that goes around--we don't need any more! p.s. I know that if Lucas DOES start talking right now, everyone will be saying to me, " See, you were worrying for nothing. He just had to grow out of it--he wasn't READY to talk. " UGH!!!!!!!!! [but that's okay, I'll just smile and agree. At least he'll be talking. *fingers crossed*] > Hi , > That is so amazing about how the naturopath your family goes to has helped > you.
