Guest guest
Thank you so much for your hard work on the rally and the support you are giving to the cause! Don't stress over this, we will work out a better time off-line. I totally support what you are doing for Alvin and all farmer and consumer rights. I will deliver the meat to Mel this weekend, so no worries there. Anyone else reading this, please try to come to the rally, it is so important that we don't dwindle away to a small crowd. This is not just about raw milk, it is about our food freedom and our right to choose! The corporate take-over of our food choices has already moved on to slaughtering heritage hogs in MI. Remember all that was seized at the Trad Foods Warehouse: cultured vegies, kombucha, state inspected pork & beef and my USDA meat included. My son, Chef , was accused of 'adulterating' food at a farmer's market because he used our USDA inspected ground beef, cooked on site, to max temp, in a state approved mobile kitchen, for nachos. Yes, beef is not a proper ingredient for nachos only fake cheese sauce is according to La Crosse health dept. What restaurant assoc do you think was behind that reg? The list goes on and on, anything that undermines corporate profits becomes target, and always under their tried and successful food safety mantra, while they go on poisoning people with chemical additives they don't even have to expose. So, let's have a very large turnout and send a message we aren't going to let corporate money funding these government prosecutors and regulators squash our voices and our children's rights to real food. ~Jan > > Jan, > > I'm going to be really consumed during rally time. Guest guest
Thanks Jan, good words. For folks who don't think the government is up to something, or that it is only in rare cases in MI or CA, or that the only people being punished are people who have done something bad....THINK AGAIN. A good friend (also a client of mine), who farms on his gorgeous mountain farm in NC where we have set up 100% free-ranging heritage hog operation in the woods (large blacks, old spots and osssebaws) had a " friendly " USDA man show up YESTERDAY, all jokey and happy-acting, asking pointed questions and saying that the USDA wants to come out and do some (get this) " free and voluntary DNA testing on his hogs " " Free of charge " , mind you. " totally voluntary " ....Oh, and: " Don't worry... " But they wanted to do it " right away " This Gestapo, I mean, gov. agent, knew a totally freaky amount of information about his farm, acreage, structures, number of animals, and much, much more that it was almost impossible for them to know about. Mind you, there have been NO COMPLAINTS, NO SICK PEOPLE, NO SICK ANIMALS, NO KNOWN PROBLEMS. I immediately sent my friend to the FARM TO CONSUMER LEGAL DEFENSE FUND (he is already a member) telling him not to sign anything, not to say anything unless it was 100% vetted by PETE KENNEDY. Trouble is, I'm not sure that the FTCLDF can keep these spies and moles off of his farm. Others who have run them off or who have refused the " voluntary " testing, have had the agents just show up with a SEARCH WARRANT along with armed " officers of the law " . Dammit. Then you REALLY need a good lawyer to protect your rights. If you are not already a member of FTCLFD, we need you. Consumer membership is only $50 and a full farm membership is only $125. Please join up. We all need to work together. Today it's Alvin they want, tomorrow..... who will it be? Guest guest
The insidious attack on family farms is really escalating. Big Ag is clearly beginning to feel the pinch of consumers opting out of industrial food. For members who haven't signed yet, I'd be grateful if you'd sign my petition regarding Michigan's recent DNR " Invasive Species Act, " which targets not only feral pigs, but heritage-breed pigs on family farms based solely on certain physical characteristics they share with wild hogs. The petition is here: http://www.thepetitionsite.com/981/405/422/stop-michigan-dnr-from-slaughtering-h\ eritage-pig-breeds/ Re: Sale! 100% grassfed... Alvin's Rally Thanks Jan, good words.
