Hi. I just wanted to share some of my thoughts today. Once again I am confused

by the school system. They called an IEP to

discuss my son's music therapy evaluation. For 6 months I have been hearing

about how much my son would benefit from

music therapy. He was finally evaluated and from the sound of the preschool

teacher, he would have no problem qualify. In

fact I thought he was already getting the services and I just had to sign off.

Well today I went in for the meeting and again they

told me that although he would enjoy it he just wasn't severe enough to qualify.

It is like this with everything. I am so sick of

fighting so I just signed the papers that I agreed after expressing my opinion

and left it. Now I am feeling angry with myself. I

dont know how those people sleep at night. They tell me all these things that

would help him and then thy deny those things.

The next IEP meeting will be the fight about extended school year (summer

therapy). I better start preparing now because it

will be ugly and I already know they will fight against it.

I am looking for a new school system for my son. My husband and I would even

contemplate a move. We would like to find

a school in Fort Wayne, IN, or if necessary we have considered a move to

Indianapolis IN or Cincinnati OH.

Does anyone have any thoughts or suggestions to any of the above??

Thanks
