Guest guest
I'll offer my response... I can't identify the product, but I would not normally eat it because: 1. a lot of sugar overall 2. soy ingredients 3. protein isolates are too highly processed 4. what in the world is " high maltose " ? - I'm automatically suspicious 5. the oils are not extra virigin 6, who knows what " natural flavors " really means 7. I would have to look up " maltodextrin " 8. I try to only eat oats that have been soaked 9. are the tocopherols synthetic or natural?? My gut reaction is that they want it to seem like a fancy, healthy food with the inclusion of things like chicory and rosemary... that might just be enough to bamboozle the average consumer! That's my 2 cents. Guest guest
Nature Valley - They sell to Mc's, right? What would the oil of rosemary do in such a product? On its own, it sounds quite fascinating, but as it is almost last on the list, it would have barely any impact on the flavor or nutrition, so what good would it do? Guest guest
It is a General Mills product and this specific one is sold at convenience stores, but Nature Valley is a whole line of granola type bars and I think just granola too - so wouldn't be surprised if they sold it at McDs - I haven't been in one in many years so no idea what they sell anymore. It might be a preservative? The rosemary oil that is. Or just to make it sound healthier? Essential oils don't need much to make an impact though so it could be for flavor too.
