Guest guest
This post is mostly for the ladies out there. My name is lily and I have been poz for 20 yrs now. I have also fought HPV for longer than that. I had an eppisode of colitus about 10 yrs ago and had to have my first colonoscpy done. They found some polups in the process so I have to be checked every 5 yrs now. My fight with HPV has been almost worse for me than my fight with HIV. I do have it under control (finally) after getting my tcell back up to a normal level and just being on top and watching everything. I have had seveal conizations (sp?) of my cervex and various other things to keep it from turning into cancer. I just had my 5 yr check up and it seems my HPV has finally moved into the colon. I am going in 2 weeks to have it burned or whatever they do to remove it and of coarse they will have to watch it and I will have to add yet another Dr. to my list of every several months getting checked out. I suppose getting checked out is better than actually checking out ...LOL...sorry... Anyway, my point is Ladies. If you have HPV...even if you have never had more than a little break out and never thought of it again you need to have your colon checked out anyway. Make sure that it does not spread to any other places. If I had not been on top of my situations I would have been dead from cervical cancer 10 yrs ago from this. It is a pain in the ass (no pun there intended) but your life is worth it. This is not something that just happens to gay men either. If you have vaginal HPV it can pass to your anus just cause you have it!!!! HPV is one of the most commonly passed viruses out there and can sit kindof unnoticed and then when you do find it, it will be too late. Please ladies, be proactive with your health and your life. You are so worth it!!!!!! Regards Lily
