Guest guest
Anyone recommend a good source or two for bulk nuts besides the coop? I'm interested in any and all ideas, shelled or unshelled, though my favorites would be locally grown. I'd like to make a lot of crispy nuts & maybe some homemade Lara bar type things... -- to live in this world, you must be able to do three things: to love what is mortal; to hold it against your bones knowing your own life depends on it; and, when the time comes to let it go, to let it go. Guest guest
There is a season business called We Are Nuts that is on Vandalia. They are open only October thru Christmas. Maybe you can get on the mailing list for next year, wwwwearenuts.com When I could eat nuts I always bought my years supply there and froze them. They also carry other reduced rate stuff like some groceries and candies. Now that I can't eat nuts, I still go there and load up on other stuff. The nuts are raw, roasted and salted, chocolate covered, etc. Sandy > > Anyone recommend a good source or two for bulk nuts besides the coop? Guest guest
google " Bremner Farms " . their nuts are very good. they are in california. they sell unpasteurized organic walnuts and almonds at very good prices. for the good wholesale pricing you have to get 25 pound quantities, but maybe you can split with someone.  i just got 25# of walnuts in october or november (freshly harvested!).  we've been enjoying lots of crispy nuts! love em!  julie From: take root <fullyhuman@...> Subject: Sources for nuts? Guest guest
Interesting indeed. Since raw almonds cannot be legally sold in the US since 2007 (unless something has changed recently?), how is it that these folks are selling them? Do tell! > > > From: take root <fullyhuman@...> > Subject: Sources for nuts? > > Date: Tuesday, January 10, 2012, 10:21 PM > > > > Â > > > > Anyone recommend a good source or two for bulk nuts besides the coop? Guest guest
ACTUALLY I think the law pertains to almonds, not all nuts. AND the GROWER can apparently sell a daily amount of raw almonds. I think 100 lb. Wouldnt bet my life on this info but I'm pretty sure it's accurate. Sent from my iPhone On Jan 12, 2012, at 7:28 PM, " earthmama48 " <earthmama48@...> wrote: > Interesting indeed.
