Guest guest
My son's Speech Language Pathologist at his school asked if I had any documentation regarding the benefits of starting treatment for apraxic kids at an early age. She is the person who first told me that my son was apraxic late last year. That was a turning point for my husband and I which has led us to start agressive treatment and start the search more answers. She is doing a research paper and would like any non-anecdotal research to support her efforts. She is truly an incredible person and anyone who lives in Westland or Livonia Michigan is lucky to meet her! My son was in an Early On program for 1 1/2 years before he was old enough to start the PPI program at age 3. At that time, he didn't receive ANY speech therapy. I feel he would have been so much more ahead from where he is now if someone like her had been around. If her research could be used to help any parent to get help for their child as soon as possible, it would be wonderful. If you have anything that may help her, please answer back. I will ask her if we can publish her research paper on the website when she is done. Maybe it can help other people in other states. Thanks in advance!
