Guest guest
Hi , I understand your concerns about preschool. It was such a difficult decision for me to send my daughter (who was only 2.3) to an early intervention preschool. I was totally against sending any child so young, especially one who could not communicate effectively. I cannot tell you how wonderful her experience has been. School has helped her more than all her previous therapies combined. She absolutely loves it and has gone from only saying one word at a time to two and three word phrases, and her intelligibility has increased dramatically. ProEFA has also helped. It is important that you be comfortable with the program and the teachers. 's school has a 1:2 staff, child ratio, and the entire program is designed to stimulate speech, as well as social interaction and learning. You can always give it a try and discontinue it if you feel it is not beneficial. Good luck. Barbara
