Guest guest
I started Dylan on Longs Drugs brand Fish Oil and Evening Primrose Oil last Monday night. Yesterday his occupational therapist was so excited! He was more cooperative, and willing to try new activities than he had ever been in the two months that shes seen him. He also verbalized a lot more, and even told her " NO " quite a few times! Last night when we were getting ready for dinner he kept yelling " HOPE OP, HOPE OP " Well, I finally figured out he wanted HELP UP on to his chair. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He said a " P " !!!!!! And then there was today... Normally at preschool he is very quiet, reserved, and shy. He stands in a corner and will not talk to anyone. His speech therapist (in their one on one session) is the only one able to get any sounds from him. It normally takes him 15-30 minutes before he will interact with toys and activities in the preschool room. Today, he walked into class, nodded at his teacher and went straight to the toys and started playing! He excited his teacher even more when she heard his voice for the very first time - saying " Bye, bye " to his paper cup while throwing it away after snack time. He babbled and squealed while playing in the gym, and yelled at his sister (by name even!!!) when she would not leave when I was ready! I can't tell you what an exciting couple of days this has been. This morning I cried while listening to him through his baby monitor. For an hour I heard him " talk " to his toys, argue with his baby brother, and laugh at some books. My baby has a voice, and all I did was give him some stinky fish oil. If only I had found you guys earlier!!!!!!!!!! I actually found my self ready to say " sssshhh " to him a second ago because he is babbling incessantly into a toy phone - I had to remind myself that this babbling has been almost three years in the making!!!! What a busy little chatterbox he has turned into!!!! He even YELLS at ME - so what if I can't understand half the words? I am hearing his VOICE and thats all taht matters at this point!!!! I am now tracking down the nearest place to get ProEFA! PJ Mom to: 1 (hyper little mountain climber, Dylans partner in crime) Dylan 2 1/2 (cheeky monkey/practical joker with possible Apraxia w/fine and gross motor issues) Nikole 6 (pre-pre-teen/trend setter/cheerleader wannabe) Brittany 3 1/2 (tempermental drama queen) __________________________________________________
