Guest guest
Hi Tami! I'm sorry that you have not heard form anyone else yet, but I'm sure that you will. I am certainly not an expert in this area. I have been down this road looking for financial help and can only pass along what I have been through. I may have more input if I knew what state you are from. Here are some options that I have explored: 1) Peachcare for Kids (that what's offered in the state of GA) 2) Social Security for Supplemental Security Income 3) Deeming Waiver You may want to start with the Social Security Office as well as the local health department and see what they might can do or advise. I am currently going through the DFCS for the Deeming Waiver. There is also a good article on the apraxiakids.org website that talks about " Negotiating The Insurance Maze. " Perhaps you can squeeze more out of them. Yes, you are correct about needing a firm diagnosis. That was my experience no matter who I talked to. I had an evaluation by a Developmental Pediatrician but I have also been told that a Psychological evaluation is also good. Good luck and be sure to write in again if you don't get more information!
