Guest guest
Hello, What a great meeting. Cheryl talked about being an advocate for your child, iep's and sensory intergration. Many parents had questions and issues. She also talked about a circle of friends, on how to make sure your child is treated equally in the class when the child is transitioned, as well as educationing other children in her classroom about being included with different disabilities. There were 2 sensory intergration therapists there also, which talked about what sensory intergration was and hypotonia. Dr Laveman also was there talking about insurance and other issues he faces as a professional in order to help our children. is so right about one thing, educationing yourself is the only real tool that helps us understand what is going on with our children. You cannot kick yourself on what you should have done in the past, but know how to better educate yourself for the future. As a last note, the Bergen County newsletter was handed out to the parents, reminding them of upcoming meetings. Jan 9th this wed, the bergen county group will talk about insurance issues, at Hillcrest School. 60 West Midland Ave, Paramus,NJ Take care Jeanne Buesser President Apraxia, Network of Bergen County Outreach Coordinator for Cherab www.apraxia.cc
