My daughter is in a regular K/1 with a small amount of inclusion kids. It had

been very hard for Lindsey. I know for a fact that the kids say she talks

like a baby, but I cant imagine what she hears everyday. When she's with me

she gets a lot of it too. She has been asked by a child if she's speaking

Spanish and last week at T- Ball a parent asked if she was foreign and a

couple days ago my grandmother said she talks like she's haring impaired. She

hears this stuff all the time!

She is very aware so will usually stick to saying one or two words to people

when they speak to her.

Inclusion is not for everyone and if there was a place where kids were mildly

impaired I would put her in that classroom.

My son is 8 and is a self contained class, it is doing really good because of

the small class. Hopefully he will not always be SC but for now its working.

he has severe learning difficulties, he also gets speech, language and OT.
