Guest guest
Hi Everyone, I have a four-year-old daughter that's has SID, hypotonia, motor planning problems, difficulty with speech (do not know whether it's apraxia but she is receiving intensive speech therapy)and suspected APD. We recently (beginning of Dec.) saw a neurologist at Boston's Children Hospital and he reinforced everything we were already doing with my daughter (therapies-speech and OT).Yeah! But at the end of the exam he asked if she had any birthmarks or moles. She has a dimple at the top of her buttocks and almost nonexistant reflex in her knees and ankles. He thought we should get this checked out for spina bifida occulta for a tethered cord. He recommended an MRI and said he could set it up there. It took us by surprise and we said we'd talk to our pediatrician about it. In his report to the pediatrician he said he'd address this issue and we should follow up on it. Well needless to say our ped hasn't received the report yet and what I've read online concerns me. Has anyone else heard of this or experienced this? Thanks Audrey __________________________________________________
