Hi All,

For those parents interested in a website for beginning

sign language..checkout ...<www.handspeak.com>.

The signs are animated so you can actually see the

necessary movement for the simple signs most children

need to begin.

As for your EIP not teaching sign..Here's a

suggestion... you can switch EIP's to Lake Drive School,

Mountain Lakes, NJ and get a program more geared toward

sign language communication.

I would also like you to keep in mind that children need

to have a core vocabulary for communication. Initally,

all children use animal sounds for their names. The

animal names come later. So start with animal sounds or

sound approximations for naming these critters. Also try

to focus on vowel sounds as word approximations since

these are the first sounds children play with and say.

Hope these are useful suggestions for parents seeking

signs and question where to start with your children.
